If you would like to host an event or have something posted on the web site, please contact the Editor of the Web Site. Send an email to Webmaster@RIWA.net. RIWA is looking for volunteers to host Events or sponsor an outing.
Orioles is also looking for volunteers to host Orioles Potlucks!
Many people have contacted Norma @ stormy42@comcast.net about getting on the Orioles e-mail list. The potlucks are a great way of socializing in a smaller setting. These groups cannot go on without volunteers. Many of the original members are getting older, and it would be nice if the up and coming 40 or 50 year olds could keep this group going! It is a great way to get out and meet people making new friends in the community. All you have to do is provide the place, paper goods, coffee/beverages, contact RIWA or Orioles to have event advertised and get things going. People will contact you so that the food can be coordinated ... no need for 10 apple pies! If your place isn't large enough, you could coordinate an event such as a game night, a walk, etc. In the past Orioles has had some wonderful Thanksgiving Dinners as a kickoff to the holidays. Last year a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner was coordinated at a rental place at Borderland State Park. For such a special occasion, we might have to ask for donations for the hall. Another idea might be the community room in a condo complex. Think about it ladies! Remember to support RIWA without hostesses or your support, RIWA, will not survive.
Remember what RIWA has offered and meant to you through the years. Lets pull together and save the organization. We will advertise the events, so please contact or Webmaster@RIWA.net |
